ePedagogy(Bar)Camp Barcelona?

Barcamp

The next international Seminar is said to be in the begin of October and should be held in Barcelona (great!).

I thougt about if a BarCamp as a open Structure for this Seminar might be right decision. For those of you who don’t know yet what a BarCamp is:

BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from attendees.

Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join.

When you come, be prepared to share with barcampers.

When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.

Social Networking in Action

I have been teaching a course on social software. During this I decided that Facebook offers a very good front end for a lot of “serious” activities, including the epedagogy MA. I have therefore started an epedagogy group in Facebook. So far it has 5 members, and a link to this site.

It would be very good if everyone else on the course (past and present, staff and students) would also join Facebook, message me and then apply to join the group. (I have set it as a closed group so you have to apply to join. This stops people messing around with it.)

I think we could use this as collective action research. My initial hypothesis is that using this as the front end to our online networking will be good because we will then get a richer picture of each other, and this will enable us to engage in more fruitful collaborations.

BTW, for those with genuine privacy concerns Facebook is VERY privacy conscious. You can set everything to be viewable only by your friends, if you want - and people can only become your friend by applying to you and waiting for you to say yes or no. It is absolutely NOT like MySpace, Bebo, or similar sites.

Later that same day:

I wrote a slightly longer argument in favour of this on my site (which is now being updated again) here.

Didactical Analysis of VLEs

Dear Jaap,

I have one question concerning your course “Didactical Analysis of VLEs”. I would like to participate and have now heard that you have started the course yet in the Skype meeting of the project group “Visual Knowledge Building”. I have read the comment that you would join the meeting on 15th November one day late. But I did not know about a Skype meeting anyway.

Are you going to provide regular Skype meetings for your course? Is there a timetable?

I have downloaded the one document in MimerDesk - are there more documents needed?

Perhaps you could post an entry into this blog with all the information needed to participate in your course - as I probably will not be the only one interested…

Thank you!

Christina

Write it down! (shouldn’t it say up in these times?)

Thanks for all your impressions concerning our seminar in Hamburg. I’d love to read more of them. To make sure that also the content is documented Ralf created a special wiki page to store the results, questions and topics. Please fill it with all your presentations (or links to them) and group plansand results.

International Seminar in Hamburg

Dear all,

the next seminar is coming… And before we can start to do the whole planning for the seminar we need a date. So I have put up 3 proposals for dates for the seminar into the platform www.MeetWithApproval.com.

The proposals are:

  • 4th - 8th October
  • 11th - 15th October
  • 18th - 22nd October

Together with Torsten we thougt it would be the best to hold the meeting from Thursday to Sunday, i.e. 3 days of work and a some time to discover Hamburg. Concerning the cost of all it is easier to find cheap flights with a weekend in between. Wednesday in the evening we can start with an unformal come together.
You all will receive an email with a link to this platform. Please answer until Thursday 4 July so that we can start the preparations. And please answer using this platform and not here in this blog so it is easier for us to handle.

Attention with the date! This platform is only able to manage points of time but not periods of time, so I have always chosen the starting day. The ending day is always the following sunday!

Skype consulting hours

The Videoconference will be canceled again as there are only a few persons available at my proposed date.
Thus I recommend to consult me via Skype if you have any study related questions.
Weekly consulting hours are:
Monday 13.00 - 14.30 (EET)

Enrolement-Form for UIAH?

Dear ePeds, especially from Hamburg,

since Jana’s talk to Helena Härkönen (via phone) showed that no one from Hamburg is officially enroled at UIAH (a written and mail-posted re-enrolement-form is required), does anybody have the re-enrolement-form as a printable pdf-file?
I remember Christoph having this file… maybe he could post it here.

BTW, Is there a possibility to set up a ‘useful forms and informations’-pool here? With data like the correct IBAN/account-number for the study-fee and the re-enrolement-form? Would come in hand for probably most german students, I think.

Greetings,
Wey
